Adhikarichaur is a large former village development committee in Baglung district, named by the Nepal Chhantyal Sangh among the district’s Chhantyal settlements. Unusually for a single village, its Chhantyal community has been the subject of its own academic case studySocio-Economic and Cultural Condition of Chhantyal Community: A Case Study of Adhikarichaur VDC — a sign of how rooted the community is here.

Trace-back

Adhikarichaur lies in the Baglung homeland that, with Myagdi, has always held most of the Chhantyal people, sharing the community’s long history of copper mining and hill farming across the Dhaulagiri foothills.

At the time of the 1991 census

Adhikarichaur recorded 5,389 people in 1,021 houses — one of the more populous units of the district, its Chhantyal families part of a wider hill community.

What people do

Life rests on farming the terraced slopes, livestock, and income from family working abroad.
