Representative image of the region — not this specific village.

Bisukharka (also spelled Bishukharka) is a former Village Development Committee of Gulmi district, named by the Nepal Chhantyal Sangh among the Chhantyal settlements east of the Myagdi–Baglung homeland. In the 2017 reorganisation it was merged — with Dirbung, Harrachaur, Shantipur and others — into Chandrakot Rural Municipality. Its name carries kharka, a high grazing pasture.

Trace-back

The Sangh’s naming of Bisukharka reflects the eastward spread of the Chhantyal from their copper-mining heartland into Gulmi, where they form a small presence among a wider hill population. Independent sources confirm the settlement; the Chhantyal link rests on the community’s own record.

What people do

A separate VDC-level population is not recorded for Bisukharka in the sources we have. As across these hills, families live by farming, herding on the kharka pastures, and income from work abroad.
