Ghyas Kharka is one of the eastern Myagdi villages where the Chhantyal language is still spoken.

Its name carries “kharka” — a high grazing pasture — pointing to a life long tied to herding on the seasonal grasslands above the village. It belongs to the eastern cluster of Chhantyal settlements of Myagdi.
