Representative image of the region — not this specific village.

Khanikhola is a Chhantyal “khani” village of Baglung, named on the Nepal Chhantyal Sangh’s roster of the community’s settlements. Its very name joins khani (“mine”) to khola (“stream”). It is new to the list and does not yet appear in English-language sources, so its location and figures are unconfirmed.

Trace-back

The name marks Khanikhola among the copper settlements of the Baglung hills, born of the mining craft that became the Chhantyal hallmark across the Dhaulagiri region.

What people do

The village’s own figures, location and present-day life are not yet recorded here — like its neighbours, it would have lived by farming and, in earlier times, copper mining.

    Historical (named for its mine)

The name itself — "khani-khola", the mine stream — points to the copper that gave the Chhantyal their craft. New to the Nepal Chhantyal Sangh's roster and not yet documented in English sources.
