Kharikhet is listed among the Chhantyal settlements of Myagdi district in community accounts of the people. We have not yet been able to confirm it in the linguistic literature or a geographic gazetteer, so its details are treated as unverified for now.

Community sources place Kharikhet in the homeland the Chhantyal built across the copper-bearing hills of Myagdi. Unlike the older mine villages (whose names end in -khani, “mine”), the name ends in -khet (“field”) — a hint that farming, not mining, defined it.

What people do

Specific figures for the village are not yet recorded here. As across the region, families are understood to live by farming, animal husbandry and income from abroad.
