Representative image of the region — not this specific village.

Pakhapani is a large hill village in the Raghuganga area of Myagdi. The Nepal Chhantyal Sangh names it among the district’s dense Chhantyal settlements, while Wikipedia describes it as a Pun (Magar) village — so it is best understood as a shared, mixed-community village rather than a purely Chhantyal one.

Trace-back

Pakhapani sits within the belt of Myagdi hill villages where Chhantyal, Pun-Magar and other communities have long lived side by side. The Sangh’s inclusion of it reflects a Chhantyal presence among a wider population.

At the time of the 1991 census

Pakhapani recorded a population of 2,565 people in 533 households — one of the more populous villages of the area, its size a reminder that it is a mixed settlement rather than a single-community one.

What people do

As across Myagdi, life rests on farming the terraced slopes, livestock, and income from family working abroad.
