Representative image of the region — not this specific village.

Tamghas Khanigaun is a “khanigaun” — a mine village — near Tamghas, the headquarters of Gulmi district (Resunga Municipality). The Nepal Chhantyal Sangh names it among the Gulmi Chhantyal localities. Its Chhantyal community is not yet documented in independent English-language sources, so its details are unconfirmed.

Trace-back

The very name marks a copper-mining past — the craft that links the village to the Chhantyal, who spread eastward from their Myagdi–Baglung heartland in search of ore. Whether the mine was Chhantyal-worked is not separately recorded.

What people do

The village’s figures and present-day life are not yet recorded here. As across these hills, families would live by farming and income from work abroad, the old mining now a memory.
