Representative image of the region — not this specific village.

Thada Khani sits in Raghuganga Rural Municipality–6 of Myagdi, among the cluster of Chhantyal copper villages of the district.

Trace-back

Its name — “-khani”, a “mine” — is no accident. The village’s copper mine, set in the Rumale cliff, was worked before 1971 BS and then closed when the Rana government restricted extraction. A century on it still awaits excavation, a reminder of the craft that first drew Chhantyal families here.

What people do

The village’s own figures are not yet recorded here. Life follows the rhythm of the region: farming, livestock, and support from family abroad.
